Betomix-Gel improves concrete waterproofness, frost resistance and strength.
Intended Use
«Betomix-ITH Gel» is used at the stage of concrete and reinforced concrete casting. It is a yellow-green liquid.
The additive is intended for waterproofing of concrete and reinforced concrete structures. It improves concrete waterproofness, frost resistance and strength. It protects concrete structures against effects of waste and ground water, seawater, petroleum products and aggressive media (acids, alkali etc.). «Betomix-ITH Gel» improves corrosion resistance of concrete and prevents corrosion of steel reinforcement bars.
Composition:
The mixture contains chemical additives improving waterproofness, strength and frost resistance of concrete and concrete products.
Principle of Action
Addition of «Betomix-ITH Gel» to concrete triggers chemical interaction between complex salts in the additive and concrete (concrete product) and calcium, aluminum and iron ions , which results in formation of oversaturated solutions of insolvable complexes.
In the process of concrete hardening, the insolvable complexes crystallize from the said oversaturated solutions forming needle-shaped crystals that occlude pores in concrete. Thus, the product makes concrete stronger.
In the process of use of such treated concrete products and structures, the needle-shaped crystals prevent diffusion of water drops in pores and microcracks (up to 0.4 mm) in concrete and, thus, improve concrete waterproofness and frost resistance properties. The needle-shaped crystals facilitate removal of excessive moisture in the form of water molecules from concrete (while preserving steam tightness of concrete).
Scope of Use
«Betomix-ITH Gel» is used in construction of envelopes of residential houses and public and industrial facilities, of hydraulic engineering and water treatment structures, filters, drinking water reservoirs, swimming-pools, basements, substructures, bridges, dams, concrete water ducts, concrete tanks for storage of petroleum products and aggressive fluids, dikes, tunnels, and root cellars.Products
